This opportunity is perfect for those looking for short or long-term administrative projects in an office setting. Tasks may include stickering books, cutting, putting together resource bags, laminating, preparing training materials, or assisting with a designated project.

The Babies Rock program brings community volunteers into infant classrooms to interact with babies and give them extra one-on-one attention.

Support our mission to promote the importance of reading to children as early as possible. Participate in one of our literacy initiatives as a volunteer reader for a local child care center or school. Visit a local classroom and read to children through initiatives such as Read for the Record, Josh the Otter, or Community Reader!

Support special events & projects by joining a committee or working with staff to plan, develop, and/or attend events such as the annual Duck Fest or the Little Literacy Heroes Storybook Village.

Create a short video reading a children’s book to be shared on our YouTube page. We will give you a list of approved books to choose from and even help you record it!

Reading Buddies connects volunteers with VPK students who benefit from extra encouragement as they build early literacy skills. By spending just one hour per week reading and engaging with a child, volunteers help foster confidence, a love of learning, and future academic success.
