School Readiness Program

Do you need help paying for child care in Flagler or Volusia County?

School Readiness (SR) offers financial assistance to low-income families for child care, after-school care, and school-age care. SR programs are designed to help prepare children for kindergarten and beyond, and help families keep working or continue their education.

Benefits of School Readiness

The benefits of quality early child care are countless. Parents stay employed, children learn through play, and our community grows stronger. 

Who Qualifies?

    My child is under 13 years old

  • I make less than 2x the federal poverty level

    See chart below or check out the Poverty Guidelines

  • I am employedⁱ at least 20 hours per week

    or going to school at least half-time (6 credits per semester)

    Retired families or families receiving disability income may qualify.

  • I live in Flagler or Volusia County*

    *If you reside in another Florida county, find your local coalition.

Determine whether you are eligible for School Readiness by using the Poverty Guidelines above or the Florida Division of Early Learning School Readiness Sliding Fee Scale. If you are over the income limit for School Readiness you may qualify for the School Readiness Plus Program. You can locate the Florida DEL SR Plus Sliding Fee Scale here.
