Quality child care environments are nurturing and safe. These environments present opportunities and materials for children of all ages to learn through play. This is essential to your child’s development.
Accurate information about child development and appropriate expectations for children’s behavior at every age help parents see their children and youth in a positive light and promote their healthy development. We are here to assist you in learning about the different attributes of a nurturing environment that meets all your child’s needs, including their need for early learning.

Safe Sleep
A total of 2,036 Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) deaths occurred in 2010*. Statistics show that many babies die during the first week of child care when safe sleep practices are not followed.
In order to help prevent these deaths, Child Care Providers and families must work together to keep babies safe by placing them in their cribs, on their backs, every time they are put down to sleep.
